Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2025
The polls are open from 6 am to 7 pm!

When you show up at your polling place, you will be asked to state your address and provide a form of ID. A VA Driver’s License or a UVA Student ID are the most common forms of ID, but a full list is here: https://www.elections.virginia.gov/media/formswarehouse/voter-id/outreach-materials/documents/Voter-Identification-Chart-Rev-4-28-21.pdf

Please note that
digital UVA IDs are an acceptable form of identification. To show your digital ID, open the Atrium app and click on the ID card icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

Do I need to be a registered voter?
Yes, however, you can register at your polling place. Just tell the poll workers you need to register, and they'll take you through the process. If you need to update your voting address, you can do that, too, through the same process.

Registering to Vote

You are allowed to register to vote either at your home address or at your Charlottesville address. If you register at home, you will need to vote by mail or travel to your locality on Election Day. If you register in Charlottesville, you can vote by mail or at a local voting location.

Deadline to register to vote or update your voting address for the Fall 2025 Election: Friday, October 24, 2025. Online applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM ET and paper applications must be postmarked by 10/24. Note that the deadline is 5 pm for those requesting a ballot by mail. If you miss this deadline, you can still vote with a provisional ballot that will be processed after Election Day.
