Today was a great day to be a UDem! In addition to partaking in the UVA tradition of trick or treating on the lawn, we did phone banking and we took "why I'm voting photos." We also saw some great costumes today!

Tim Kaine stopped by Grounds today to chat with students, and rally support as we get closer to election day! 

We loved hearing from Virginia Delegate Toscano's work with the general assembly, and how close we are to taking back the house in 2019! It was great to look ahead to our local elections in 2019 and see the importance of state government!

Today we enjoyed the fall weather with Bodos bagels on the lawn. It was a great way to relax in the midst of all our schoolwork and campaign season. 

Today a group of UDems put aside their homework and attended what our president coined, "A Wilde Rally" supporting Leslie Cockburn's congressional campaign. Also, at the rally were Cockburn's famous daughter Olivia Wilde and her partner Jason Sudeikis. As seen by the huge lines in the photo, there was a huge swell of support at the rally and we're getting fired up as we approach the election!

Today we decided to leave the campaign trail and hit the real trail. Lots of Dems embraced their environment loving, outdoorsy sides to hike humpback rock! It was a great way for all the members who attended to bond and step off grounds!

We were excited to host Leslie Cockburn at our weekly meeting! Many students showed up to hear our future congresswoman speak! Mrs. Cockburn spoke about healthcare, women's rights, student debt and answered questions. It was a great opportunity to interact with Mrs. Cockburn and hear her ideas for the fifth district! #flipthefifth
