Today we took on the second most important election of the year, our UDems elections. We elected a new board and we are super excited for the year ahead! Now were all getting ready for the last Dems events of the year as we all buckle down to study for our finals!

Election day was a whirl wind of last minute phone calls, handing out sample ballots, encouraging our friends to vote, and of course, voting! We all headed to the Biltmore together after the polls closed to watch the results come in. At 7:01, when Tim Kaines win was announced we were so happy. The night was filled with many wins, such as the women who took seats in Virginia, Jennifer Wexton, Abigail Spanberger and Elaine Lauria, who helped flip the house. While we didn't get the result we were looking for in the fifth, we're so proud of all the hard work our members put into this election cycle. We're now looking forward to 2019 and flipping the virginia house of delegates!

As we approach the elections, our members, Olivia Wilde, her brother Charlie and Tom Periello are hard at work putting in the last efforts to win the election! It was a crazy weekend filled with phone banking, flyering and canvassing to finish off this campaign season!

Tim Kaine visited Charlottesville again, and introduced us to the newest campaign strategy, text-banking. Senator Kaine spoke with us and got the ball rolling for the thousands of texts that our members would send out in the days leading up to the election. Some of our members even attended Tim Kaine's Charlottesville rally following the event! This was such a fun event for our members to meet Tim Kaine as we approach the election and what is to be a busy next couple days!
